Meet Alysia!
I was born in Vancouver, WA in 1980. My sister Brittany and I grew up in the Great Northwest, spending time with our tight-knit family, including our parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and many, many cousins. We enjoyed swimming, playing sports (especially soccer), camping at Beaver Bay Campground in Cougar, WA and Beacon Rock State Park, in Stevenson, WA, and boating on the Columbia River and various other lakes in the Northwest, including one of my favorites, Lake Billy Chinook, in Central, OR. I graduated from Washington State University, Vancouver, in 2005 and married my high school sweetheart the same year. My husband and I are celebrating our 20-year wedding anniversary in 2025 and we are the proud parents of three intelligent, athletic, fun-loving, fierce daughters who also enjoy soccer, gymnastics and swimming right in our own backyard, on the beautiful Washougal River, in Washougal, WA. We adore our family pets, our 10-year-old Tuxedo kitty, Mr. Meows (who we discovered as a kitten, loitering outside our garage door, the week we moved into our house…what a blessing!) and our 2-year-old Rottweiler/Husky Mix, Frank, who we adopted as a puppy from the Oregon Humane Society.
What is something most people wouldn’t know about you?
I make fresh popped popcorn for the students and teachers at our youngest daughter’s Elementary school every Friday, which is always one of the highlights of my week. I love our local schools, teachers, staff, students, and the parents that I volunteer with. They make supporting our schools a total blast! Together, we oversee school fundraisers, carnivals, sporting events, Bingo nights, Book Fairs, and pretty much anything under the sun that strives to make our schools a wonderful place for all. I am so happy to be a part of such a wonderful community!
Favorite ice cream?
Hands down, my favorite ice cream is the Saltwater Taffy gelato at Sea Star Gelato in Seaside, OR. If you have not tried Sea Star gelato, you simply have not lived. I have even toyed with the idea of obtaining a cooler filled with dry ice, so I can purchase an obscene amount of Saltwater Taffy gelato and tuck it into the dry ice, so it will manage to survive the 3-hour drive back from the beach. I am bound and determined to accomplish this delicious feat one day!
